Why no updates?

Because, life is crazy. I can't even begin to go into all the craziness. General life has put severe delays on our moving in to the house. That and weather.

But, last weekend (not this past one, but the one before that), Hubby and I got most of our things moved in. By ourselves. Seriously, I'm super impressed with ourselves. We got our queen bed, night stands, couch, chair, washer and dryer, dressers, tv/entertainment center, kitchen table and chairs, clothes, linens, and various boxes, all by ourselves and the trailer that we are borrowing from Hubby's dad.

However impressive this list is, the most impressive part is that we had to take a lunch break and go to Sears to pick out a refrigerator. It was a major sale weekend for Sears, hence our visit there. We found a great deal on a fridge on clearance. But, it was a Sunday and we wouldn't be able to have it delivered until Wednesday. So, Hubby and I got it in the trailer, into the house and completely set and hooked up all by ourselves. Well, we also had the help of a hand truck. But still. I'm impressed with the two of us! We still have our piano left to move. That is definitely a bigger task than the two of us and a hand truck can handle. So, we'll get it soon with the help of some borrowed muscles.

So, we have been living in the house for a week and a half. It's still half done, but I'm so glad to be in! It's a good feeling.

There are some odds and ends that we are taking care of when we have time:

1.There is a door that needs to be ordered for the opening between the dining room and office. We can't complete the trim in those rooms until the door is installed.
2. We have the trim to do on the windows. It will take some more help from Hank. So, when he gets the time to help us, that will be done.
3. We need to finish the mudding and painting of the breakfast room. One the we have to do is switch the direction of the door opening from the breakfast room to the laundry room. Right now it opens into the breakfast room and knocks into the table. So, we have to switch that.

Today, we finally got our kitchen officially started! Brian, from VanNostrand, to do final measurements for the cabinets. So, those are officially on order. It will be another 3 weeks of take-out for us (at least). Then, the countertops can be measured for. I'm so excited!!!

So, there you go. We still have boxes everywhere! Still have plaster dust around. Still don't know when our bathrooms will get underway. But, it's good to be home :).
